Observing what the world has to offer in terms of visual dynamics is the primary inspiration for my art. This quote from my painting mentor, Ronald Augutis, sums it up: "Everything I do is drawn from experience, or things I've seen in my life. My subjects (iconography) have evolved over a long time."

For myself, when creating new works of art, my main objective is to be open and experimental with a strong connection to process and discovery.

It is my hope that these efforts achieve a dynamic personal vision of the abstract landscape. At this time my primary media are acrylic paints combined with graphite and pigment markers. However, I like to keep my options open as the past has many experiments with materials that might be called for at some point.

My sketchbook, digital tablet, and cameras offer a daily confluence of ideas, observations, and actions. This process helps to inform the larger scale artwork focusing on interpretive drawing and painting of my surroundings and past experience.

I enjoy the creative process and try to use each day as a stepping stone on the journey of discovery.
